Refugee Sponsorship

St. Mark’s is helping to sponsor refugees from Afghanistan living in Tajikistan.

St. Mark’s is helping to sponsor refugees from Afghanistan living in Tajikistan. They are the family of Fawad and Roya Sultani who live in Orangeville. The refugees are waiting for their medical checkup which is scheduled for late January. If all goes well, they may arrive in Canada sometime in February. This schedule during these difficult and challenging times may change, but we need to be ready for their arrival. The family here is Canada are trying to arrange for the following list of items that the refugees need to begin their life here:

– Kitchen dishes
– Microwave
– Coffee table
– Dining table and chairs
– Pressure cooker
– Cooking set
– Bed
– Vacuum cleaner
– …anything else needed to start a new home would be appreciated.

Please let us know through St. Mark’s office (519) 941-0640 or office@saintmark.ca, what you have to offer and when you can drop it off at the church. Some of the larger items will have to wait until just before the family arrive in Canada. We will keep you informed with updates. Thank you for in advance for your care and support as we continue to reach out in the name of Christ. If you are interested in helping out and serving on our Refugee Committee, please email Archdeacon Peter Scott at rector@saintmark.ca.
